WELLNESS WEEK #3 –

Stress/Handling the Holidays – Nov. 8th – 12th

You need stress in your life! Does that surprise you? Perhaps so, but it is quite true. Without stress, life would be dull and unexciting. Stress adds flavor, challenge, and opportunity to life. Too much stress, however, can seriously affect your physical and mental well-being. A major challenge in this stress-filled world of today is to make the stress in your life work for you instead of against you.  Stress is with us all the time. It comes from mental or emotional activity and physical activity. It is unique and personal to each of us. So personal, in fact, that what may be relaxing to one person may be stressful to another. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and full of stress during the holidays. This week will be devoted to learning ways to cut down on stress so you can enjoy the holidays and life more.  Below are a few calendar items to put in your agenda.

Wednesday we will have a sweats day.    Please take this day to put on your comfortable sweatshirts and/or sweat pants …no slippers for this day though. J

Work out our stress and have fun at the same time.  Zumba is exercise cleverly disguised as hip-hop, Latin, African and Reggaeton dance.  Learn some new moves and get your groove on today and Wednesday after school in the cafeteria.  On Thursday we’ll de-stress with Pilates.  All students and staff are welcome to participate.  Be REAL!
