WELLNESS WEEK #4 –

Stress/Handling the Holidays – Nov. 12th – Nov. 16th

http://www.girlsgottaplay.com/images/volleyball_sweats.jpgYou need stress in your life! Does that surprise you? Perhaps so, but it is quite true. Without stress, life would be dull and unexciting. Stress adds flavor, challenge, and opportunity to life. Too much stress, however, can seriously affect your physical and mental well-being. A major challenge in this stress-filled world of today is to make the stress in your life work for you instead of against you.  Stress is with us all the time. It comes from mental or emotional activity and physical activity. It is unique and personal to each of us. So personal, in fact, that what may be relaxing to one person may be stressful to another. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and full of stress during the holidays. This week will be devoted to learning ways to cut down on stress so you can enjoy the holidays and life more.  Below are a few calendar items to put in your agenda.

Monday – Thursday

Special "de-stressing" activities at lunch.  Don't miss out on the fun!  By the way did you know that music can be a powerful tool in relieving stress?  (Hint Hint…)

Friday we will have a Panjama pants/Sweats Day.

Please take this day to put on your comfortable sweatshirts and/or sweat pants and/or pajama pants for this day.  Remember this is the only day pajama pants will be allowed.  Enjoy!

Reminder:  When you enter the building, you need to turn your cell phone off and store it in your locker.  It is important that it is off and not on vibrate during the school day.  So…at this time…if you have your cell phone with you, please turn it off and take it to your locker.
