ALL GRADES:  Attention beginner, intermediate and expert chess players!  The Littleton Public Schools annual chess tournament will take place at Newton Middle School on Saturday, December 3.  You must pre-register before November 18^th in order to attend.  You can get a registration form from Mrs. Lloyd in room 103 or from Student Services.  Questions?  Check with Mrs. Lloyd.

Time to Earn Falcon Feather 5!  Ms. Morris and Mrs. Elkins will be holding a fun peer mediation training as part of your Falcon Feather #5. There are 82 students who have completed their Falcon Feather #4 and are eligible to attend this training to start working on Falcon Feather #5 on Tuesday, November 8^th from 3:00 – 4:15 PM in the Double Classroom.  Please let Mrs. Perow if you will attend.

Reminder:  When you enter the building, you need to turn your cell phone off and store it in your locker.  It is important that it is off and not on vibrate during the school day.  So…at this time…if you have your cell phone with you, please turn it off and take it to your locker.

Homework Help Session with Mr. Richardson is every Thursday in the Library from 3pm to 4:15pm.

ALL GRADES:  We are keeping it REAL about suicide prevention this week. Today our focus is on Leadership and leading the person in need to resources and people who can support them. Some ideas of people you can go to include:

ALL GRADES: National Junior Honor Society will be meeting this Friday, November 4 at 7:00 a.m. in the double classroom.  Breakfast will be served.  Several students will be bringing items…see the paper note that you receive this week.  We will be planning our work for Habitat for Humanity and Emergency Family Food Bank.  Please attend.

We are keeping it REAL about suicide prevention this week. Today, we are focusing on Accepting that everyone goes through ups and downs in life and that we all need some extra support to get through the “downs”. 

Remember, tomorrow is the last day of our Yellow Ribbon week. Please show your support by WEARING YELLOW TOMORROW….Don’t forget to wear your yellow ribbon bracelet too!  If you stop by our information booth tomorrow wearing yellow and your bracelet, you will get a special “Thank you” for showing your support.

Acknowledge: that a friend or classmate has problems and that the symptoms are serious.

Care: let the friend know you are there for them, and want to help.

Tell:  a trusted adult about their concerns.

Don’t forget to stop by the information booth today to learn about the ACT message and to get more information on suicide prevention.

We want you to “Be REAL” about suicide prevention, so today our focus is on Respecting the physical, social, and emotional well being of yourself and others. Growing up is not easy. You face many tough decisions and difficult life experiences that at times seem overwhelming. For some kids, a difficult, scary or threatening situation can cause so much distress that they start to think about killing themselves. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death for students in middle and high school and it can be prevented if adults and friends are aware of the warning signs and know what to do. To learn more about the warning signs of suicide, please visit the information booth in the cafeteria during your lunch period.
